A Mighty Mess

Ah, seasonal changes. I do love spring, and I do love summer. And to some extent, I also like switching the kids' clothes... putting the old season's things away and pulling the new season's clothes out of storage. It feels like I just went shopping! :D
But it is a job, and I really dislike the piles and piles taking over my home.

Right now, I have an open suitcase full of summer clothes, several closets full with winter clothes, and several chairs adorned with summer clothes that I already pulled out to use, but have nowhere to put.
There aren't enough hangers in the world, my friends.

For the past three days, we had real summer weather. I loved it! It was such a sudden change, though, and I made peace with the fact that Adel won't get to wear some really adorable spring clothes I have for her. It went from sweaters and jackets to shorts and sun dresses in the matter of one day.

But today it's back to 50-60 degrees. I look over all the clothes I came to terms with not ever using, and feel like they have been given a second life.
And then I look at the suitcase. And I feel like the transition will take a good several weeks.

The last season change took place in early October, and it very nicely coincided with my nesting. :haha: I can't understand how I managed the entire seasonal clothing change in less than a day. Ah, well. I'll just enjoy this season. As long as nobody needs scarves and mittens, I'm happy.

  1. We just did a big change over too! I love when we're fully in one season, and the in-betweens are packed away. I get bummed out sometimes if a few outfits just never got used for some reason.

  2. Yeah, while sorting the clothes, it dawned on me that Mr.G has an abnormal amount of size 24 months-3T pants. Good corduroys and nice slacks and all that. Mr.YY will be well loaded. Haha.
