And I washed and put away the hats and scarves. I figured we might still have winter-coat weather, but didn't imagine hat and scarf weather! Oy. I wanted to take the kids out today while Hillel is kashering, but it's not much of an "out" day.
Unlike last year, when I went out to the park on the day before Erev Pesach against my better judgment. (I had a ton left to do, but we stayed out most of the day enjoying the spring...)

Very sweet! Do your kids speak English and Yiddish? I thought they were only Yiddish speakers for some reason.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing you mean the avocado/potato chip/envelope?
ReplyDeleteWe do speak Yiddish, but Zusha picks up a lot of English in cheider (many English speaking kids. The curriculum is in English and Yiddish, eventually becoming totally Yiddish.)"Envelope" and "potato chips" are from there.
I don't think there is a Yiddish word for avocado (tropical fruit in Europe? ;)) We do use English words for some items, though.
I was thinking of the Hello Kitty book. I just commented on the wrong post.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could speak Yiddish. I wish I could speak Hebrew. I'm so terrible at languages. I'm so happy my kids will be fluent in 2. Such a gift.
I figured you commented on the wrong post, just didn't know which one you mean. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of books in English. Jewish books are $10 or more each and aren't good quality most of the time.
So we get nice ones for $1-2 in discount stores. They just look at the pictures anyway.
