Peekaboo!

Brothers :)

There were school buses parked around the corner from us, and they all had their doors open! Zusha was tentatively going in, laughing hysterically and running out of each one of them.

First tulips! This was the front yard of as house undergoing some repairs/construction. All kinds of buckets and boxes and debris was heaped all over the yard. But nevertheless, there were tulips beginning to make their way out! Here they are peeking out from under the pile. We had severely cold weather after I took this picture, and even snow, but they still pulled through! Eventually the yard was cleared and the tulips were able to grow properly.

Our second big snow.
The kids and their new snow-friend.

A snow-puppy. :)

A random squirrel in the park.

And the passion of the boys! The excavators next to the 38th street park.

New Sleeping Arrangements and Elmo!

I finally decided to start teaching the boys to sleep in their own beds. We bought Gedalya a mattress and put it on the floor next to Zusha's bed.

I nursed Gedalya to sleep and everyone fell asleep so nicely. Whenever one of them calls me, I come over to them.

As an incentive to sleep in their beds and not run back to mine, I bought them Elmo sleeping bags! They were so excited and tried all the variations: zipping it up, leaving it open as a blanket, fuzzy side in and slick side in. They love it!

Although many times, I end up falling asleep with them there. Sometimes even till the morning! Imagine, if you thought an adult and 2 kids in a 48" bed was tight, try sleeping with a toddler on a CRIB mattress all night! LOL!

(Confession: sometimes I put them to sleep in my bed anyway because although I like feeling of sleeping in a child-free bed, more often than not my bed remains empty while we all camp out on crib mattresses. The nights I let them into my bed, I feel so luxurious to sleep with so much space! ;) )

Snowy Day!

Finally we had a real snow day! (Feb. 12) It snowed all morning and all day, and we went out in the afternoon. No one shoveled yet, so it was the perfect opportunity to go sledding!

We have a sled that is made of soft vinyl material. It has a belt and buckle that you close around the waist so that it hangs down at the child's back, like a tail. Then you pull the entire thing between the kid's legs, and he sits on it. At the front it has handles, to which I connected some links to pull it by.

Zusha's turn to give Gedalya a ride!

After we played on the block for a little bit, I connected the links to the stroller and Zusha rode behind me as I pushed it. :)

Hot & Cold

We had an unusually warm day recently: (Feb.6)

Warm enough to play without coats!

But...

A few days later (Feb. 11) was so cold. Sooo cold, that I didn't dare go out with the kids.
But they were really longing to get out of the house...

So I decided that we will. We took a car service to Amazing Savings and spent some time there playing with the toys and all.

The boys just LOVED the car ride! It's such a rare treat for them to go in a car.

By the time we were ready to go home it had already warmed up a bit, so we walked. We stopped off at a pizza shop on the way.

Mmmm, someone's portion look better. ;)

January 2008 Photos

~Zusha 3 1/2~Gedalya 21-22 months~

Zusha just came home from shul with Tatte after shabbos and he was so happy!

Curly boy :)

Gedalya chose his outfit for the day. Pajamas snapped over his shoulder, a scarf, and one red car slipper. :D

We went to the Children's Place and they gave the kids excavator stickers! I put one on the window in the stroller hood.

In the park...

Zusha was playing with his twirly lamp toy in the dark, so I snapped some pictures.

Back in Business!

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

Whoever has been following my blog surely realized that I stopped updating for 4 months. The post below was my last one, until I started up again in June. I backdated this entry so it should be a starting point for my new posts, after this long hiatus.

The reason I stopped blogging is that I am B"H pregnant and I was really barely managing to function as it is. Coincidentally, the last entry (below) was posted the day before I found out I was pregnant. The next 3 months were pretty hard on me, not leaving me any time or energy for anything.

So when I sort of got back to my senses, I was so overwhelmed by how much I missed! I have a lot of catching up to do, and will be backdating posts to keep them in the correct chronological order. Which is why I am entering this post in this spot, as a divider between old and new posts. :)

A Taste of Spring

Last month we had a three-day treat. January 7, 8 and 9 were unbelievably warm- almost 60°!
Of course, this was my chance to dress the boys up all matchy-matchy and enjoy this one-of-a-kind opportunity.

Here we sit like birds in the wilderness, birds in the wilderness, birds in the wilderness, waiting for our food.
"OK, Mama, if we sit nicely for the photoshoot, do you promise to feed us after?"

They kept their part of the deal, and I kept mine. ;)

Yum!

Best brothers, best friends...

Warm weather calls for rollerskates!

On the way to the park for our third day of sunshine!

The secret to babies' silky skin: a facial treatment several times a day.

Watching the excavators! I couldn't believe it when I saw the Poozils standing together so peacefully. I figured that a common fascination made them forget that they're not supposed to stand together so nicely...

But then Zusha came to his senses. :)

Fun, fun, fun!
