BOING, BOING!

I love my little Boing-Boing's hair! Gedalya already knows to pull on his curls when I say, "Boing! Boing!" The downside is the maintenance. I have to wet it before brushing it each time. But the cuteness pays off.
Little corkscrews!

It's getting longer! It already hangs past his neck. When his hair is wet, it's much longer.

Cute little half-ponies on the sides:

Love that color!

This is what happens if I brush his hair when it's dry. I was afraid he'd fly away in the breeze. ;)

Copyright Infringement

When Zusha was about 2 years old, he'd say the word "toddler" as "toddlin." It was a totally original word. And then I see this:

What are my legal rights?

Gedalya, You Want to be Baby?

Every evening when it's time to put on pajamas, Zusha gets really excited. He runs to Gedalya and says, "Gedalya, you want to be baby?" Apparently he thinks Gedalya looks like a baby in pajamas.
Anyway, here are some pictures of Gedalya "being a baby."
Normally I wouldn't post (or even save) pictures of this quality and lighting, but they look so cute here, dancing on my bed last night that I'll make an exception:

JUmp JUmpy JUMP!

"Gedalya, laugh for Mama!"

Singing...

Time for bed. Awww...

Just Trying to Make Myself Feel Better

It's no secret that when you have kids, winter is not the most fun season. Hats and mittens and scarves and coats are enough to make the most determined mother wish she could hibernate for a few months.
It's not only about getting the kids stuffed into all those things. It's also about peeling your kids like onions whenever you'll be spending more than five minutes in a store or a pizza shop or the like. Then stowing the extra clothes somewhere they won't get lost.
Another fun part is the CLIPS. Mitten clips, hat clips, scarf clips... The outdoor paraphernalia turn into one huge tangled article of clothing that nobody but ME can figure out.

So, as I sit here and enjoy 78 degree weather in late October, I will prepare myself for winter by listing the things I like about it:

  1. No mosquitoes. I know winter has officially begun when I can wait to itch a tickle rather than attacking the itchy spot in hopes of killing a mosquito. I can't stand those creatures.
  2. I don't have to dress Gedalya when I'm in a rush to get Zusha to cheider in the morning. Nobody can tell what he's wearing under those layers.
  3. Snow! Enough said.
  4. Um, I get to take more pictures inside the house. In the summer all the pictures are outdoors, so I DO need to have some pictures of our apartment. Okay, I know, that's stretching it.
  5. I like winter clothes for myself better. Sweaters don't have to be so perfectly dried to eliminate wrinkles, like shirts do. I just feel more comfortable in winter clothes.
  6. No crazy high electricity bills due to air conditioning.
  7. Feel free to add your own favorite aspect of winter!
I think that's it! Now I feel more prepared. ;)

The Sight that Greeted Me this Morning.

Someone had fun. At least they let me sleep for 7 minutes while they entertained themselves. That was our entire supply of straws. Which I thought would last for at least a year.
They had fun last night, too. Take a look at Gedalya's legs. It was a joint effort.

Fun and No Fun

Fun:
Zusha went to his first playdate! There is a boy in his class, Zusi, and I got to know his mother a little bit. She picks him up (instead of sending by bus) so we see each other and shmooze sometimes.
Zusha got to know Zusi because they share a name.
So they invited us over for Shabbos afternoon.
It was very nice. I got to spend some time with a real adult and Zusha got to play with a new friend and new toys. And it was nice to see that families can function normally in a toy-strewn house and that having a "junk" room to dump things in last minute is fine, too.

No Fun:
We are sick again. Gedalya had a fever a week and a half ago.
I had a funny feeling on Friday, and on Shabbos I woke up with a sore throat. It kinda feels like I have something stuck there, rather than the typical itchy feeling of a sore throat.
Today in the afternoon Zusha told me, "I am very sick. Something went in my neck."
And indeed, soon after he went to sleep, he woke up coughing and crying.
No fun.
Last night as I was putting the kids to sleep, I tried to hold back my coughing so as not to disturb them. But I didn't manage to suppress it and coughed. So my cute baby Gedalya patted me gently and gave me a kiss. Aw.
