Chag sameach, everyone!!
Sukkos is such a magical time of the year. So much simcha, celebration, excitement... Living in the sukka is always great fun for the kids, as is the novelty of the lulav and esrog. Not to mention decorations!
Two years ago, another dimension of excitement was added to sukkos. We were waiting for a little someone to make their appearance, and Adi joined us on Simchas Torah!
Needless to say, Sukkos will now be even more special each year.
I've been posting all the exciting stuff Adel has been doing, like walking with a walker. It was a huge deal, because it meant she didn't need to put all her weight on something for support.
Two weeks ago I announced that Adel is finally standing up on her own! No support whatsoever. Here is the visual for your eyes to feast on:
And just now! Two days before sukkos! The most wonderful, amazing, tender moment that I waited so, so long to experience- and didn't know when I'd have the privilege to see...
Count them! Eight! Eight steps!
There is truly a lot to celebrate and be thankful for this Yom Tov.

Back to Nature
We try to do things naturally in our family.
We don't always succeed, but we try.
We try to eat healthy... or at least choose the more natural junk.
MSG (and all it's aliases) and food coloring are banned from our house.
I always strove to have all natural births. As I got more educated in the choices, I even had a homebirth!
It's nursing all the way for our family. Gedalya weaned just over a year ago, when he was three years old. And Adel is my first baby never to have tasted formula (mostly due to her being the first baby born at home.)
I'm slowly eliminating chemical laden body products from our home (using up the supply) and replacing them with natural, handmade soap.
And our most recent endeavor is switching to cloth diapers, training pants, nighttime pants and wipes.
Natural enough, won't you say?
Aha! But wait till you see this!
Natural window screen:
Yup, it's true! Works better than the artificial ones.

Dlaya (or Gedalya if You Don't Speak Toddler)
I told Gedalya to put on his socks.
He replied with:
My eyes popped and my jaw hung open. I asked him how he knows how to spell "can't." He said he doesn't know how.So I asked him why he decided to spell it this way specifically.
His reply?
"I thought about how to spell it, and then I saw a picture of the word."
Does this mean my kid has photographic memory?
(Sorry about the Facebook-esque posts. If I'd wait till I had time to write a proper post, I'd forget this pearl. In any case, the more posts without photos on the front page, the faster the blog loads.
)
PS:
Did I mention he is four years old? He is.
He replied with:
C
A
N
apostrophe
T

The Moment We've All Been Waiting For...
Firstly, I have been neglecting this blog. I have a LOT to share, but I also have a LOT to do! I haven't really had time for much of anything, because I try to do everything!
And usually Adel wakes up in middle and starts crying for me to come to bed, as she is now, so I will make this short and sweet.
ADEL IS STANDING ON HER OWN!!!
Like, pulling up to a stand without ANY support! And then keeping her balance for up to 20 seconds!!!
Excuse all the exclamation points, but they are necessary.
Because guess what?
ADEL took THREE steps today!
One in the morning, and two consecutive steps in the evening. She might walk before her second birthday!

Update
Zusha came home with his tooth in his mouth. Adel knocked it out later that day.
Also, Adel has wonderful news to share! I'll let her do the sharing, so I'll keep you guessing while I make the video and upload it!
Meanwhile, here's another fun video of Adel showing off how well she know her body parts.
Update on the update:
Ehhh, forget it. Blogger is trying to prevent me from spreading cuteness. I think I'll need to find another video hosting site and then you'll get TWO videos.
Update on the update on the update:
Seems like there is something wrong with my video, since YouTube could not upload it either.
So you won't get to see how well Adel knows her body parts and other things. Oh, well.
