Ooooh, Presents! :D

Birthday present time!!
My in-laws got the kids Tinkertoy! They have so much fun with it.

One example of their creations: A piano/xylophonesque contraption. Next to it is a stick to play the instrument with, too! LOL.

Then this... this is something Zusha has been begging for for a while! A real child-sized guitar! :D (From Mama)

Tatte's present was a Yiddish book. We have a similar one- a word book (pictures with Yiddish titles). This is a book about numbers.

It includes math examples, which I'm pleased to discover that Zusha answers with ease. (As long as I give him real life examples, like if Zusha has 10 potato chips and shares two with Gedalya...)

Another present from me- an addition to the kids' train set. It includes several plain tracks, some train cars, and this zip-open container.

The best part is the doubling pieces- they divide one track into two, making it possible to make twists and turns. The kids also made two depots (two parallel tracks towards the bottom of the picture) on which to line up their respective trains so they shouldn't mix.

Before I got this, they were only able to make one large oval. Zusha wouldn't let Gedalya play on the same tracks because their trains would merge. So he'd "donate" some tracks for Gedalya to make a small oval and they'd each play separately, and no one would have too much fun.
No, with so many turns and sections, they play happily on one track. Finally- I'm so happy!

My mother gave they boys a set of dry erase markers for their easel (along with an eraser and cleaning fluid), an amazing, awesome puzzle book about transportation (it's so cool!) and another little something... or maybe a big something... something we went together to buy yesterday. One for each boy. They are in love.
Curious yet? Stay tuned!
