A Big Day for Zusha and Something Special for Adel

Zusha had a party in cheider. Last night I went to buy balloons and pekelech. The saleslady asked me what they balloons are for- a graduation? I told her no, for my son's birthday. She replied, "Oh, for your son? Why would you need balloons for your son's birthday?"
(She's a funny little opinionated lady who asks about purchases. Once I was buying postcards and other stationery and she asked me if I used it to write letters. I told her it's for my son to make crafts with, and she had a similar reaction as to the balloons.) I found it humorous that it makes more sense for a fully grown teenager to receive balloons than for a five year old. LOL.

In any case, Zusha and Gedalya were thrilled to discover the balloons in the morning.
We got ready, took the pekelech, and went to cheider. Zusha asked me a couple of nights ago how he will take the pekelech on the bus- they will be heavy! So I agreed to walk him. He was beyond joyous. I also had to take the camera to the Rebbe so he can take photos. So off the gang went.
I decided not to go home for a few reasons. We already came a little late, and I needed to do some shopping in the area. By the time that would be taken care of, and I would walk home, we'd need to leave again in about an hour. So we ran some errands (got the boys cute Shabbos caps for $5 each!), went to the library, and then headed to the park.

On our way to the library, Adel started crying. It was almost time for her to eat, and Gedalya and I were hungry as well. We bought bananas. I pinched off a tiny drop, mashed it between my fingers (I wiped my hand first!) and let her suck it off my finger. She pursed her lips, all confused... pushed half of it out of her mouth and the other half she ate. I don't know if there was even enough to swallow, but she did get a taste of it. After she finished processing what just took place, she started looking around where she can get more, but we were almost at the library, so we went in and I nursed her.

After the library we went to the park. As we were approaching the gate, a few little boys lined up at the fence, calling out to us, "Are you coming to pick up Zusha Lubman?? Are you coming to pick up Zusha Lubman??!"

So that's how we met up with Zusha at the park. He showed me all his friends and played some more. Then we went to pick up the camera and Zusha's things from the classroom, played some more and headed home for presents and more fun. :)

Pictures, presents and more details coming soon!
