The Erev Shabbos Park
-a magical park that appears for little boys who are disappointed at finding out that all they will have time to do on Friday is grocery shopping. One ordinary Friday morning, the Poozil boys set up the room for crafts. Crafts are fun! Crafts are great! Hurry, Poozil boys, because we still have a lot to do! We need to do Shabbos shopping and then we can go to The Cheider Park!
The Poozil boys cheered! They were thrilled at the suggestion. But they did not hurry. They worked on their crafts... all the meticulous details needed to be taken into consideration. They worked long and hard. And by the time everyone was ready to go...
tick-tock-tick-tock
It was 25 minutes before the closing time of the grocery!
Their Mama thought quickly and decided to go to another grocery which is open longer. Unfortunately, though, there was no time left for the park. The Poozils begged. The Poozils rationalized. The Poozils bargained. The Poozils hung their shoulders in defeat, took hold of the stroller, and followed their Mama.
There they all were, following the road to home. The stroller was laden with various products, as it was too late for delivery. The three of them walked on, the Mama and the two Poozil boys. When out of nowhere, they spied something unusual off the side of the road. Where there normally lay a clear path, there now was what seemed to be a solid wall of green shrubbery! Although there wasn't enough time to go all the way to the park, there were several minutes to be spared to take a peek at this unusual turn of events.
As the little group turned onto the side path, the boys spied another object of wonder- a ramp! A fun ramp to run up and down on. What joy! What a treat! What a pleasant turn of events for two previously sulking Poozils.
The little boys ran their fill and they all continued on to the mysterious greenery sprawled across the path.
Upon approaching, they realized that it was a branch that had fallen off of a tree. A huge branch. Large enough to block the entire road. Pausing for nary a moment, the Poozils flew onto it and began to climb, straddle the branches... turn it into a helicopter, airplane, horse...
They then stood on one of the lower branches and held onto one of the higher ones. Their Mama stood on the broken end and pushed it down to the ground. The Poozils went UP! They giggled and giggled as their Mama jumped on the stump of the branch, making a wonderful ride for them. When their little hearts were satisfied, they turned back to the main path- but not before having another FUN run on the ramp!
The Poozils and their Mama made it home on time. Shabbos shopping was accomplished.
And the magic Erev Shabbos Park saved the day!
(Unfortunately, there are no photographs to record this wonderous event. The Poozils' Mama erroneously thought that there can be no photo-worthy moments in a simple walk to the grocery store and back and neglected to bring a camera. Lesson learned.)
awesome! wow. there's so much more going on there scenery wise in BP.
