We don't have a place for a pool where we live, but I have all the swimming gear for the kids should an unexpected opportunity come up. Annnd, it did! An acquaintance of mine also lives in a two family house with no room for a pool, but a family she knows went to the country for the summer and gave her access to their house, kiddie pool and all. And she invited us to join her one day!
She has three kids:
a girl one year older than Zusha (6)
a boy 1/2 year younger than Gedalya (almost 3)
and a baby boy two months younger than Adel (7 months)
The girl was at day camp, so Adi had to put up with a gang of boys on her own. I took some pictures of my friend's boys just because I can't resist a fresh subject.
We arrived and got the pool ready. The kids were giddy with excitement.
Everyone had a wonderful time!
Except Miss Adi. She woke up 15 minutes into swimming and I got her ready for the pool. I put her in... and... "WAAAAAAAH!!!!"
Okay, okay, come on out... sheesh. But she wouldn't even calm down in my arms. She cried and kvetched on and off the entire time. I think it was a combination of the cool water, a new place, and the infamous toofs.
But she did agree to pose for some poolside photos.
I spent $7 on that bathing suit... might as well at least have tangible proof of its use!
In a cozy, cozy robe with her peacock toy... that feels a little better.

)
After swimming we had lunch, and then the boys played on the deck.
The following week was a rainy one, and the one after that was in the nine days, so we haven't gone back for an encore yet. But I hope to, very soon!
