Here We Sit Like Birds in the Wilderness

...birds in the wilderness, waiting for our food.

Oooh, yum.

"Mama, Zusha's plate looks so delicious. When is my food coming?"

"Oooh, all for me? Thank you, Mama!"

Although Adel isn't dining out yet- nor is she dining in- she did have little tastes of food here and there since about seven months. When I say "tastes" I mean it literally. She probably didn't even have enough to swallow on most occasions.

So far she's had:
a pinch of banana mashed between my fingers on three occasions
a suck on a piece of watermelon
a few licks of blueberry
several drops of cherry juice left on the bottom of a bowl of cherries
a tiny slurp of cherry compote
a drop of yogurt from my fingertip
a couple of licks/sucks of a peach
water (between nursings) when we are outside on these hot summer days

And that's it! It looks like so much when I list it like that, but half of those items on the list she hasn't even ingested, and the other half, only about the volume of a kernel of corn got into her stomach.
She isn't actively trying to get food off my plate, and she doesn't reach for anything I eat when I hold her, so we will wait for that as a sign to show that she needs solids. For now, we are all happy with the arrangement. :D
