Everyday Fun

Turns out, you can have fun in the city.
Without going to the country.
Without day camp.
Just plain old Brooklyn and all the little pleasures it has to offer.

Like this bank:

It's made entirely from blue-tinted glass, and the boys loved going to the opposite sides and peering at each other and at me (it's on a corner.)

There is also a mirrored pillar there- too much fun!

Notice the train stickers across Zusha's shirt above... they are from a surprise package from a good friend that the kids received that morning before we went outside. A fun, fun package full of summer surprises like paint, little craft supplies and these stickers! Of course, they duly adorned themselves right away!

See the boys' caps? They are from The Children's Place. Usually the boys' hats from there have all kinds of sport logos, and that's totally not my style. But this time I saw yellow caps with yellow embroidery (it says something Athletics... I don't even know for sure since it doesn't jump out at you) and it's "YELLOW! Zusha's color!" I glanced at the sign: $3.99 / 30% off. Cool. I took one- and at the cash register it rang up... $0.49. What? :o I ran to grab another one, and now we have two fun caps for under a dollar. :D

Flying kites at the park...

Running up and down the many stairs of random shuls...

And doing grocery shopping!

(See Adi in the cart? She's so cool) :D

We go to the kids' programs at the library...

...and run into random unsuspecting people's driveways.

(Gedalya has his head turned 180 degrees away from his body. What else is new? That's how he earns all his scratches and bruises and gashes. Reckless little one.)

And we're all still alive.
Without day camp.
Without the country.
We are alive, and thriving, too! :D
