(Orange Store is what he calls the 99 cents store around here.)
Me: Sorry, we don't need anything there. And we don't have time.
Zusha: But we need toys! We don't have any.
Me: Oh, really? We don't have any toys. Aha.
I think someone needs to think of a more clever (and credible!) begging tactic.

I took the kids swimming this week and tried to put Adel in the pool. The last time I tried to do that Adi wasn't having any of it. So every time we went to the park, I'd put Adel into the sprinklers briefly- like for one second- and take her out. that way I worked her up to actually sitting under the sprinklers and in the puddle that gathers from the water. So this time, I figured Adel was a little more confident and gave the pool another try. I used the same method- dipping her in for a second, swishing her feet through the water... A few times she cried, but nothing like last time. Each time she cried out, Gedalya said to her in an upbeat tone, "Sorry Adi, du darfst!" (You have to.) Awww, what a loving and caring brother.
gotta love the "we don't have any toys" line. yeah.
ReplyDeleteThere is never enough toys! We're waiting for a fire engine to arrive from Sweden any day now. :0)
ReplyDeleteGreat that you try to get her used to the water. I never did that with Shlomo and h ewon't go near the water (he's 2,5) while his brother (14M) runs for the waves.
Fire trucks are a great hit with my boys as well. But believe me- there IS such a thing as too many toys. Come visit one day. ;)
