But Adel needs to eat every 2-3 hours, and I hate to be pressured to get home before a certain time to feed her. So, we are discovering different ways to have num-nums on the go! (Or nge-nge as Adel calls it.
)Sometimes we stop at the library. Sometimes when we go for pizza, I nurse her there. But I don't really like doing that besides for in one certain pizza shop, because the benches are fixed to the table and it's too tight for me to get Adel in comfortably on my lap. Also, when the boys ask me to pour a drink or something, it gets awkward.
The park is a good solution, when the weather is warm. I can't wait for the summer! I already have an idea to use my Maya Wrap (ring sling) as a nursing cover. It's great- very large and light, and the rings will act as weights over my shoulder so that the material won't slip down or get blown down by the wind. (And not as easy for little fingers to pull off
)One of my favorite places to nurse Adel on the go is at the Children's Place. They have a great little fitting room that is usually vacant. Just enough space for the boys to run and play while Adel eats.
Here we are! Adel smiles in anticipation
Nom nom nom.
The boys are having fun!
"That was good, Mama! Thank you!"
And we're ready to continue on our way!
Aaaw, so sweet! I hate figuring out the nursing in public stuff. I'm so much happier when they can have a snack and a sippy of water until I can get home!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm hoping that by the time summer comes she'll have longer breaks. Now she wants to nurse every 2 hours if she's around me, but will wait up to 3 1/2 hours if she's home with my husband.
ReplyDeleteI don't love nursing in public, especially since I can't chase my boys when I do. But I don't mind that much.
(In the summer we spend ALL day outside. Like, from 11-5 or something.)
I've gotten nursing in my car down pat...but boy oh boy, I get some looks sometimes!
ReplyDeleteB"H, people either don't notice or ignore when I'm nursing. A car WOULD make things simpler in that regard.
