Step by Step

Adel at Step by Step, the Early Intervention center.
We were waiting for the evaluation to begin, and Adel was enjoying herself.

First she shook her hands at the toy piano. Hey, it works for rattles!

She shook them harder and harder, until she hit a note!

Ohhh, so that's how you do it!

Adel learned something new.

Then, between evaluators...

Having so much fun!

(She's undressed because they had to check her shoulder blades- to see why she can't lift her arms.)

She got so many compliments on her adorable outfit. Everyone complimented me on my taste, only to be told that it's a hand me down! So I just wanted to pass the compliments along to you, Hila! ;)

  1. i was going to compliment you on the outfit too.

by the way, what size TCP does she wear? I bought a few things last year at the end of winter sale and they are never going to fit my daughter, they are in size 12 and 18 months.

  2. She's almost fully in 18 months in TCP stuff. Still lagging behind with some 12 months. Depends on the item, though. Dresses can last almost forever and be reincarnated as t-shirts. And t-shirts can be bought a few sizes large and used as dresses. She has a smocked, strappy top in size 3T that I use as a dress.

See if you can use any tees as dresses or something like that.

  3. do you need warm pajamas for her? I got 4 of them in 18 months, also the velour tops and matching pants, I got it in hot pink and one of the flowered versions.... my daughter won't fit into it for another year probably so you can use it.

  4. my daughter is starting to fit into 6-9 months. also, I prefer 1 piece outfits till she starts walking.

  5. Pajamas... I just checked. Two good, warm pajamas, 3 mediocre pajamas. One one-piece outfit that can be used as pajamas in case of a shortage. I think I need 1 or 2 more good fleecey PJs.
Can you give me a brief description of the ones you got (if you remember or have close by... don't dig them up just for this)?
I am a bit of a kiddie pajama snob and have a specific taste. :) Funny that I'm more picky about PJs than clothes to a certain extent.

I might buy one or two off you.

As for the velour, I don't like pink. :( I'd snatch it if it was black. I regret not buying more of those.

Also, I had the same opinion initially- no dresses till she is upright 90% of the time. But I got hand me downs that were so sweet... and some super duper cheap dresses I couldn't pass up... turns out for the best, since Adi won't be upright for a while- and I won't wait that long! :D

  6. well its all last years Childrens Place, got 4 pieces for 12.50. I'll email you some pix tomorrow, 1 is the red winter one, there is a pink one, a light blue with clouds, don't remember the 4th one.

I made the no skirt rule and preferably no tops and pants rule (onsie and pants are excluded) when at less than 3 months she was picking up her skirt to feel the satin lining (holiday plaid from TCP in piink and gray, I think Adel had it too)

she always looks neater and more put together when the stuff is forced to stay tucked in.

I love overalls but lately the clothing companies aren't making any girly ones. Whoopie had a nice sweatshirty one but I'm not willing to pay 65 dollars for 1 item that will only be used to crawl in. I was cringing at the 25 dollar gap velour one and waiting for it to go on sale.

  7. I also wanted the velour in black and they only had 6-9 months left in a set when I was going shopping. at that time, at the rate my daughter was gaining weight she never would have fit into it.

I actually found some adorable stuff at Loehmans tonight.

  8. I never even go into Whoopi. There's nothing there I forgot. LOL.
I think there are girly overalls at TCP now. Unfortunately, I can't use anything in the infant section anymore (not unfortunately because Adel is B"H growing, but unfortunately because they don't make the baby stuff up to 24 months like most stores do.)
So check there for overalls. I have some from my boys that I will use with a girly shirt underneath.

I guess Adel doesn't move too much, so everything stays in place. Ah, well, B"H for each one's challenges! :D

  9. I bought the pink one and the brown one, the brown one is for shabbos (we are having a lot of yomim tovim and my brother is getting married 2 weeks after) the colorful one I found too garish.

Old Navy has some adorable dresses for 10 dollars if your looking.

I only went into Whoopi to see what I want if it ever goes on a 80 percent sale. I can't fathom spending so much money on kids clothes...

  10. We are making good use out of the airplane sleeper! It's one of my faves- I reach for it first whenever it's clean. :) Thanks!

  11. I'm happy!!! ruchela is growing like a weed in height and might actually fit into it by now! we have 3 others in 18 months and 3 in 12 months that she is using now...

she B"H is eating a lot better since we changed her meds and raised the dosage.... library today was a flop... I don't know if we should even go next week..

  12. B"H, you must be so happy. What are the meds for? Reflux?
What went wrong at the library?

    ReplyDelete
  13. yes, meds are for reflux.

Public school is off now so there a lot of kids at story time. some of them might have been too old, at playtime they where hoarding the blocks and every time ruchela wanted to play, she would give them a huge smile and reach out for some and they would push her away. I think I saw one kick her even....
