In the last ten days or so, Adel has progressed in leaps and bounds. All are mini milestones, but still, there they are!
- As I mentioned before, she is using the consonant "m" on a daily basis and added "b" as well.
- Began to take notice of the items around her. Whereas before I was able to put her down on the floor full with craft scraps and feel confident she wouldn't touch them, not anymore! Now she picks up papers, cell phone charger wire, and she even picked up a white extension cord that was running along our white wall.
Which leads us to... - Putting things in her mouth! No paper is safe from her drooly jaws of doom.
- Putting food in her mouth! It started with her stealing a piece of my sandwich last week and progressed to her trying to sneak a pizza crust from the table. I handed her the crust and she happily began sucking on it! I took the refined and overly processed junk out of her hands and proceeded to mash up a bit of avocado for her. She took the first 1/4 teaspoon happily... the second one less happily and the third she didn't allow me to put into her mouth. But I'm not worried.
- And... finally, finally she started crying when someone takes something away. One morning this week Adel just started crying. I tried to comfort her and figure out what happened. This scene played out 3 or 4 times until I noticed a pattern: she cried when I took something away from her! When we went to the library story hour later that day, Adel screamed at anyone who tried to take her baby. And when we put Adel on rides, she cried when they ended.
- I am unable to leave her on the bed anymore because of her rolling and wiggling. Up until 10 months, I left her on the bed without hesitation. (Although she only rolls over on my bed, never on the floor.)
Baruch Hashem, sounds like a completely different kid!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is so awesome! Praise God! Wait... is that what Baruch Hashem means? I think it must! You always type that as I am thinking "praise God or thanks God!" So excited for Adi!
