Bai!

Adi said B! Bbb. And Mmm. Those are her consonants right now. She first said mmm about a month ago, at 9 1/2 months. Now she says it on a regular basis... "Ammm mammm."

And this Shabbos she called out, "Mba!" Then yesterday Zusha was trying to get Adel to bite a teething toy (since she has been putting things in her mouth! Did I mention that? It's a HUGE step in her development. I am so grateful.) He was telling Adel, "Bise, bise, Adi!" (Bite) Adel didn't want to and made a face (love her faces!), pushed Zusha away and yelled, "Baaaai!" Zusha was so excited. "Adel is telling me to bite!"
Heh heh. I don't know if she was actually repeating the sound Zusha made or just made a sound she knew how. Probably the latter, but it's huge in my eyes.

I know I sound like a mother that amplifies every coo and sigh, but I think I'm entitled! She hasn't been saying any consonants and now at almost 11 months she has two!

Also, Gedalya has a message:
()))))))))))()((((((((((((()())((((((())(())))))))))))))))()))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Also, we sold a stroller we were trying to sell for over a year. It was at a loss, but still within our acceptable range. Yay!

Also, I have a huge pile of pants to alter for Zusha. He's a bit pudgy, so everything is too small in the waist, and if I get a bigger size, toooo long in the legs. I finally accepted this and ordered husky pants. I was annoyed to discover that the size 6 fits just right with almost no room to grow, while the legs are still an inch too long! And this is a kid who is still within the normal weight range- 90th percentile for both weight and height. It's so hard to find pants for him, I just resigned to getting size 7 (for a five year old) and altering them.

Also, it's the time of year where there are two seasons of clothing in the closets, and there's no room for that! I can't find what I need and it's generally messy. But it's always fun to change around a closet for a new season anyway!

  1. I love the way she protested every time someone took her doll away at the library.

  2. Finding YT clothes at pesach & sukkos are the worst. You are getting clothes for the next 6 months & the season just generally doesn't allow for that at yt time.

Incidentally, I hired someone to clean out my garage. She took all my cartons of (outgrown clothes) & brought them upstairs (all because I asked her for Lizi's old sz 3's). So chayale now has sizes 2-5 in her drawers (both seasons), plus some of lizi's and dovy's. Dovy also has some of chayale's clothes in his drawers. No more hiring anyone to organize. So finally I just told her to take the rest of the cartons downstairs.

  3. I still have to switch over from summer to winter. Seems like there are no more hot days on the horizon. I'm a bit disappointed with such a short and mild summer.

I usually don't buy for Yom Tov- I use what we have. I guess boys are easier- shirt and pants, and maybe a nice, original vest. We have a closet full of different vests and we use them all through winter.

  4. I don't buy anything for Chayale because she has all of Lizi's stuff. But Lizi is a child giant who grows like a (pauses, trying to thinking of an appropriate metaphor. gives up.) I don't even know what. dovy seems to be following in her footsteps- while he should have been able to wear a 3-6 for weight until the end of the summer, he needed a 6-12 for height until August & now needs a 12-18 for height- he looks so ridiculous in his clothes. he looks like he's playing dressup.
