When I was little, I drank numnums. When Gedalya will be big like me, he won't drink numnums. Then Adel will be big like me and won't drink numnums. And then we'll have more babies. A yingele baby. More and more kinderlach. If we'll have too many, they will be all over the house and no one will have room to run. So, we should only have... {counts to self} ...NINE kinderlach! OK?
Zusha has one friend in his class who stands up for him when mean kids bully him and call him names. This boy asked Zusha to sit next to him on the bus yesterday. Zusha answered that he couldn't, because he had to sit up front. (Where the bus monitor could see him, because the kids in the back pick on him.) So when Zusha told me this, I suggested that Zusha invite his friend to come sit next to him, in the front. So today he did! It's nice to hear that he has a friend.
Gedalya:
I'm still working on pronouns with the kids- particularly using female pronouns for Adel. They still refer to Adel as "er," which is "he" in Yiddish. I correct them to say, "zi," she. Today when I corrected Gedalya, he answered, "Adel is not Z, he is A!" :D
The kids were helping me put groceries away. I asked Gedalya to put the onions in the refrigerator. A couple of hours later, Gedalya comes running with an onion, "It's already cold, Mama! Here, take it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The boys still refer to chocolate as "tiny," as in, I always used to tell them they can only have a tiny piece. So when I call Adel'eh a tiny baby, they run over to eat her. Zusha eats her first, while Gedalya stands whimpering in the background, that there will be none left for him. LOL. Zusha finishes eating Adel and tells Gedalya to wait till a new Tiny Adel grows. They wait 5 seconds, and then Gedalya attacks Adel to eat her, too. :)
Gedalya was watching some video clips of him and Zusha from a while ago. One of them stopped working in the middle, so Gedalya came to Zusha and asked, "Farvos Zusha redt nisht in kinoo?" (Why is Zusha not talking in the video?)
So Zusha answered, "You have to think." When Gedalya gave him a blank look, he pointed to Gedalya's head and added, "Think here."
Hahaha!
