And You Thought YOUR Child's Tantrums Were Embarrassing

Zusha is sick again.

What else is new? That's the story of our winter. Go to school for 2 days, stay home sick for 3 weeks, go back to school for 4 days, stay home another 2 weeks...

So he's sick again.
And tantrum prone. I have a policy to ignore him when he doesn't talk like a human being. When he's sick, I'm lenient and will remind him that I can't hear nor understand him when he screams. So today he wanted to go to the grocery after we left the park and started crying, "No, I don't want to go home! I want to go to the food store! AahAHahAhaHaH! I want to go to the FOOD store! Why aren't you answering me?????" (Hm, I don't know? Why?) But he fell asleep in the carriage before I had a chance to remind him of our "speak like a human being" rule.

So since today was an extremely unseasonably warm day (like no coats in middle of January...) I went to the grocery, got myself something to eat and a magazine, and headed to the park for some quiet time while both boys slept in the carriage.

When Zusha woke up he tantrummed some more.
But a couple of tantrums were really so cute, they are worth recording. ;)

Zusha remembered his request to go to the "food store" from before his nap. So when we left the Avenue without going into a grocery, he began to howl. (Remember, he's not feeling well.)
I explained to him that we went to many different stores already, we have food at home, and it's already late, and besides, I can't understand him when he screams.

"Noooo, Mama, I want to go to a FOOD store! With bananas, milk, yogurt, yes! Such a store! Not a toy store, I don't want you to buy me toys (I didn't), I want you to buy me milk! We don't have any more milk at home!"
(Child Protection Services, are you listening?)

When it got chilly in the evening, I put on his coat and zipped it up. He unzipped it, and I didn't press the issue.
Not too long after that he decided he wants it zippered and started crying again, "Mama, why didn't you zip up my coat? Look, all the children have their coats zippered up. Zip! Up! My! Coat!!!"

What a tough day for Zusha- his mother only goes shopping for toys instead of groceries and doesn't want to buy him milk. And she has him parading the streets with his coat all open when all other children's coats are zippered.
What a day.
