So far we had more therapy sessions than I can count. We met each of our therapists already. It's nice. Adel is still apprehensive, but does allow them to do their thing. She will randomly start wailing out of nowhere when she realizes that she is having more fun with a strange person than she allows herself to. It's too cute.
At a tender age of one, Adi has four teachers and eight classes. She wasn't spared from homework, either.
He homework for this month is: I have to massage her facial muscles the way the speech therapist showed me every day. I also have to push down on her tongue with a rubber finger toothbrush several times a day. I have to ask her to give me things every day and then take them from her so she should grasp the concept. She needs to spend time in a high chair so her torso can be supported which allows her to focus better on speech. She has to spend time on her tummy and back so she can develop different muscles.
I think I managed to keep one weekday clear of therapies. I hope so. The physical therapist isn't able to create a regular schedule until November, and I hope she will be able to avoid that day.
Today, I was very impressed with Adel. On Tuesday the special ed teacher read "Pat the Bunny" with Adel. It's a feely book, and on one of the pages there is a furry bunny to pat. She liked it last time, and when we got to this page, she reached out and patted the bunny herself! I didn't think she'd remember.
So we are slowly getting used to our new schedule. I hope it will really help Adel. Now we have three therapy free days ahead!
I'm happy you have a day or two for a breather.
