Well. At about 1 AM we gave up. We hadn't made Havdala yet, so we just took her along. Then she partied some more.

Zonk.
Well. No big deal for her. She can always do this:
Just fall asleep in middle of her meal, and instead of risking waking her, I'll pile blankets on the floor and lower the high chair so she can sleep horizontally (with her feet vertically, but let's not get picky with a mama who hasn't gotten any sleep, k?)
But- who is gonna do that for me when I fall asleep in middle of my meal? Or at any other point throughout the long, long day ahead?
Tomorrow is our funfunfun geneticist visit. Really, I'm not sarcastic. It is fun. If I must have a geneticist for my baby, this is the one to have. The trip isn't long or tedious. It's relaxing, actually. The genetic counselor is great! She treats you like a good friend. The wait is nonexistent. The waiting room, if it will ever need to be utilized, is child friendly and fun. The geneticist himself is a gem. Just so loving to Adel and pleasant to be around. He works with us between visits- we email each other about any concerns, new developments and all.
Recently I asked him if I could show him some videos of Adel doing everyday things so that he could see what she is like on a regular basis, and he said it was a good idea. So I uploaded them onto the blog. I look forward to these visits!
Not to mention there is a GAP and a neat playground right nearby.

Adi had a great time at the playground the last visit:
There is also a Kosher Delight a bus ride away. Adel approves.
In order to be able to get around, I asked the train station lady for a map. She only had a train map, so I took a picture of the bus map hanging on the wall in the station.
I was traipsing around Manhattan with my camera in hand as if it was a GPS. Hee hee.
Tomorrow the visit will be different, because the boys will be joining me! What prompted this drastic decision? Well, they keep pestering me to go on a train... and Hillel can't take any more days off from work. The boys are in awe of the idea of traveling !!!!under the ocean!!!! in a tunnel. I'd love to let them loose in the great playground over there. And maybe the geneticist might get some clues by looking at Adel's brothers. Who knows.
In any case, my decision to bring the kids is manyfold. I hope it will work as nicely as I envision it!

Hatzlacha on the visit tomorrow... we where at KD Manhattan today, my first visit there....
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the geneticist, hope he has the answers you are looking for!
ReplyDeleteHuh! Dovy was up last night too. And he never does that. He woke up twice crying & wouldn't stop until we vacated his bedroom. We got some pretty serious soul mates here.
ReplyDeleteIn other unrelated news, I had a certain appt today. My hematoma shrank 2 cm & I found out I'm having another...(fill in the blank).
Go Adi! :) We're so proud of you and expect only more good things. :) Hope today went well, with good news.
ReplyDeleteNice sweater. ;)
YY was up last night too...got the girls up also...a nice farbrengen in the middle of the night.
LE, that's cute. We could have had lunch together had it not been one day apart. So, so close! Maybe next time. :P
ReplyDeleteThanks, Faigie. No answers, but many new question. And some tests that may or may not answer them.
CR & Tehilla- I guess I published this post late at night, because my "last night" = motzai shabbos. So I guess Adi is advanced in the area of all-nighters and did it before it became a trend. :)
CR, that sounds like great news. :) Nice to hear!
Is the "you are here" pointer on the subway map showing the station near the geneticist's office?
ReplyDeleteI'm only a brief walk away! Maybe we can work something out next time??
Yes! That's the station I get off at. Our team of specialists is at NYU, and if I have 2 appointments, I go to Times Square, so I am everywhere between 1st and 6th Avenues and E1st and E35th streets. I'd love to meet up. I'll send you an email before our next trip (probably not long after Shavuos.)
