Around Town

I went browsing through my list of posts and found this one that was never published. It's from over a year ago!

My boys love watching airplanes "crash" into (pass right under) the moon, or crash into each other (intersect at different heights. It rarely happens, so it's exciting when it does! Here you can see the smoke from one plane on the left, and another plane (faint) across the bottom of the image.
They did intersect, much to the boys' delight!

A lovely little birdie.

Is this a beehive? We saw it hanging up in a tree... no idea what it is, but it's cool!

I guess the reason I didn't publish this post is because I wanted more substance in it. So here's a recent bird, to keep the one above company in this post.

And one of the many sweet butterflies that are found in our yard. I've never seen so many butterflies out in nature in such a short period of time.
Because there is a "forest" (as close as it could get to a forest in NYC!) on the other side of our yard fence, I guess there are many caterpillars. So cool!
