Lotsa Updates (With Photo Interludes for More Entertaining Readablity)

WOW, I've got so much to post about!

I had a very productive 24 hours at one point this week. Tuesday night I put Adel to bed in the boys' room (on a blanket on the floor) so I could clean my bedroom for Pesach. I didn't think she'd realize. I figured I'd come nurse her as soon as she starts crying, before she really looks around. Well, I was surprised to find her sitting up and looking all around in confusion. I tried to nurse her to sleep again, but she figured it's playtime and started crawling around. Oh, how I love to watch her crawl! Even one month later, it makes me giddy. :)

Yesterday we went to the park to meet our friends- Hila and her kiddos! It was awesome sauce. All the kids had a wonderful time playing together. We also got milkshake and ice cream! If I did nothing else in my productive 24 hours, this activity alone would have earned the title. Ice cream with friends- the ultimate awesomeness.
I also tried out something fun with Adel that I was planning on doing for a long time but never actually did- I put her in the *Ergo and went on the big kid swings with her!

*I'm going to finally post the Ergo pictures (from when I got it in NOVEMBER) in the next post. :D

In addition to going swinging with Mama, Adi experienced another fun "first" yesterday.
With all the therapy she is receiving (B"H) I am not as free to do what I want when I want, or to go where I want when I want. I've been apprehensive about what will be in the summer. I don't want to be tied up! We are used to going on trips, going to the park- exploring new and different ones, library story time and all that. Being stuck at home in the warm weather isn't my idea of fun. But then I realized that we don't need to be stuck at home. We can do therapy in the park!
And that is what we did yesterday. Boy, was it ever great! The OT took Adel on the swings, slides... walked her up the slides. Heh heh. Adel loved it and could not stop smiling. This therapist is her favorite. I took a bunch of pictures, and in each one she has a HUGE grin.

After our friends went home, the kids and I went to the pet shop to get Mel Pesack'dik food. It's more expensive than the usual one we buy, but I guess since it doesn't have as many grain fillers... (just some corn.) Mel doesn't like it as much as his regular food. Hope he gets used to it soon. That task is a big weight off my shoulders! (Next project- babyproof the cat's food and water dishes! I had to grab a kibble out of Adi's hands (an inch from her mouth) a couple of times, and that fish head I blogged about earlier... ugh.)

Tomorrow Adi is getting a new therapist. She has been approved for an increase of Special Education services. We will be having it three times a week instead of two. The current teacher will continue to teach two of the sessions, and the new one will do the third. When our current teacher goes on maternity leave in a couple of weeks, the new therapist will take over all three sessions. It will go back to 2/1 when the original teacher returns sometime between July and September.

I gotta go give my house a thorough scrubbing. What does it say about me that I still care what my house looks like to a therapist when I have eight of them traipsing through my house on a weekly basis? Is it a bad thing or a good thing? Yes, I will clean and organize my house, and I am thinking of a really cute outfit (and a bow! Or clip! Or headband!) to dress Adel in for her first meeting with this new teacher.

(Which reminds me that I must post the absolutely darling video of Adel singing.)

The past few nights I went to sleep pretty early- a nice while before midnight! I felt so much better today than I usually do. I guess I had to make up for lost time and stay up till 3 AM today! Good night, all!

  1. We used to do therapy in the park, it was the only place my son would look at the therapist! Otherwise he cried the whole time she was there!

  2. So maybe there is some hope that Adel will tolerate PT when we do it in the park. Right now it's just a crying fest every time. :(
