Dear Children's Place,

I have always enjoyed shopping at The Children's Place online and in the store. Today I came onto the site and discovered that you made some changes and none of the sale items are able to be opened in a new window or tab.
This means that if I decide to click on a product in the, let's say, big boy sale section, I must open it in the same window. And when I want to continue browsing the section that I left, I must click on "Big Boys" again, wait for it to load again, click on "sale" again, wait for THAT to load (again!), find the place where I left off and continue browsing.
It is not possible to shop your online store any longer. I hope you reconsider this change and go back to normal, clickable products instead of Javascript errors soon, because I there are some really cute things I would like to order but am not able to.
Thank you for your time.

Go ahead, visit childrensplace.com and open any sale section. Try opening any item in a new window or tab. Can't be done anymore.
They didn't fix the problem, but they did send me a 20% coupon to compensate me for my trouble. I guess that did encourage me to take the extra time and effort and put together an order. Heh heh.

Since we are on the topic, here is a letter that will never be sent:

Dear Children's Place,
I love your store. I am slightly addicted to it. You pioneered your way into Boro Park- a place no children's chain clothing store has ever gone before. You were there for me when I had my first baby and did not have the internet to shop for cute clothes online. You saved me from a certain fate of buying ridiculously expensive clothes in private boutiques -or the awful quality (but great prices) in stores like Bergament and Telco. Although I did get a few items from both such places, the majority came from your store, Children's Place. We go a long way back.

Now, even though I have the internet and a whole vista of killer-cute clothes opened up for me, I still keep returning to you.
I love how you use purple in your clothes for boys, narrowing the ridiculous color-by-gender gap. (Other countries dress boys in pink, and surely purple, without any issues. In America in the early 1900's baby boys wore pink while baby girls wore blue.) (And for those that a firm believers in the pink and blue division, I have a story for you that will help you see my perspective... I know someone who wouldn't buy her son red pajamas with a penguin from the boys' section in Lands' End because... red is a "girls' color." Yeah. This lady was searching high and low for footie pajamas in a certain rare size for her son, and someone helped her out and found this link. And she didn't buy them, desperate as she was, because it's RED and her son is a BOY.)

So yea, I appreciate the fresh perspective.

But I have a question.
What in the world did you do to this poor boy here?
The Dressy Collection! He's ready to impress in classic hits like sweaters, blazers, chinos & more! shop now
Just in case it is not self explanatory, let me give you some hints.

>If it's cold enough for a sweater, the child should not be wearing shorts. If it's hot enough to wear shorts, why torture the kid with a sweater?

>Argyle and patchwork plaid?? Adel has maroon leggings with beige kittens on them. Sometimes I pair them up with a beige top that is striped with two tones of beige. I used to wonder whether this is a fashion mistake... is it considered two clashing prints? Does it even make a difference on a one-year-old? Now I have no doubts. This outfit dwarfs any concerns I may or may not have had, so thank you for that.

>What's up with the random yellow?

>If you are going to take photos to advertise your dressy collection, you might want to tuck the child in. Just a suggestion.

Children's Place... you have done a lot for me, and I appreciate it all. But sometimes you leave me shaking my head and clucking my tongue. This is one of those times.

  1. Hi, my name is Leah and I'm addicted to Childrens Place! an outing to 13 isn't considered complete unless it includes a stop over there!!!!

I also noticed that annoying thing, but didn't relize that its only on sale items, I thought it was random-worked on some pages and not on others!!!! I need a 20% off coupon-my mother wants to get my isreally cousins long sleeved blouses and matching argyle vests, there are K"H 4 siblings and an aunt and uncle already!!!! I guess i'll have to see what I can get with my 15% and get the rest with the 30 or 40 dollars i'm getting in perks points soon!!!!

  2. we appreciate the long sleeved pink and purple boys stuff because it fits the girls for much longer. I still fit into some old long sleeved boy stuff from a few years ago, I wonder if the cut is still as generous!
