We are back to our full time sport of seeing specialists. Last Wednesday we went to the pediatrician as well, to touch base. The week before, to the audiologist. In two weeks we will be taking a great fantastic trip to the city to have fun with the neurologist and geneticist.
I've broken down and finally joined the special needs group on Imamother.com. Reading posts there is a balm for me. I feel like many of my feelings are justified, and I doubt myself less when I lose myself in the old posts there. But more on that later.
For now, enjoy "Our Week by the Numbers:"
3
The amount of buses we shlepped ourselves on to get to the pediatrician last week.
3
The amount of miles we walked on the way home from the pediatrician because I couldn't stand the thought of folding up the stroller, slinging Adel and shlepping everything onto yet another crowded bus. Gedalya walked the entire distance as well!
9
How many hours we were out of the house for the pediatrician trip.
0
The amount of pounds Adel gained in three months, prompting me into starting solids on a regular basis.
2
solid meals that Adel got (squash and sweet potato) before getting an awful reaction- dirty diaper burned the skin off her tushie on contact.
Now we gotta watch carefully for allergies/reactions.
~60
puppies in a pet shop that we discovered near the doctor. We were in doggie heaven!
7
orders I placed in the last week.
2
arrived without a hitch. (Developmental toys for Adel, hamster supplies.)
3
that caused a bunch of problems. (Mattresses, Ergo baby carrier, Crazy8)
2
that hopefully will go smoothly as well (Gymboree, Children's Place)
100
dollars dropped on the Ergo Sport baby carrier. It's worth every penny! Keep a lookout for a detailed post.
2
mattresses that are supposed to arrive any minute now for the boys' new bunk bed!
20
dollars refunded to me by the mattress seller for causing way too much trouble.
6
feet away. That's where I found Adel. She was sitting next to me, and a few minutes later she wasn't! I looked around and found her hiding behind the table, 6 feet away. She pushed herself backward with her hands, sitting on her tushie all the while.
9
days till Chanuka!
12
days till we trek to Manhattan to see our good friends, the geneticist and neurologist.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeew!
