My silly Gedalya boy. He just amuses me to no end.
One day we were out and about as usual. Taking a walk, shopping, park... We stopped off at a grocery and bought some yogurts, bread, bananas, grapefruits, cookies, drinks. Then we went to the park.
We settled down on a bench and Gedalya asked me for black food. Black food? What black food?
We didn't buy any black food. I could not get it out of him, so Zusha acted as the interpreter.
When I figured out what Gedalya meant, I had a great laugh. What was this "black food" that my little three-and-a-half year old boy was referring to?
(I won't be making a follow-up post with the answer. Keep checking the comments to see if anyone gets it right!)
brownies?
ReplyDeleteNope.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of the foods that we bought (that I listed.)
Although the last picture looks like he is holding the said food, it's actually a piece of bark.

That's a baked good. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe food he was referring to isn't actually black. He interpreted the name like that.
grape fruit??????

Yes! But how did grapefruit evolve to black food?
ReplyDeleteUnbeknown to me, Gedalya always thought "grapefruit" was "gray food." I mean, it's not a grape, so if he heard it as grape, he figured he must have misheard. Not that it's gray, either, but whatever. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo when he wanted to eat a grapefruit in the park, he forgot exactly which dark color it was called by and said "black" instead of "gray."
I never would have gotten it, had Zusha not interpreted it for me!
