The kids were looking up at an airplane (it was a particularly captivating one).
And I kept taking pictures. I didn't realize until I looked at the photos later that evening that Adel is pointing!
Did she do it purposefully? Who knows?

If there's a will, there's a way. The therapists can't get Adi to empty a container of blocks by removing them one by one, but if there's a box of wipes near her, she will pull them out one by one and suck the chemical juice out of them. Yum.

When Adel is hungry and I'm about to nurse her, she looks at me and giggles.

Adel is beginning to understand "No." When she is making mischief, like sinking her claws into me, pulling my sheitel, or, I don't know, sucking the juice out of baby wipes, and I tell her, "No, Adi," she gets the saddest, most insulted look on her face! She puckers her bottom lip and cries and cries while looking at me angrily.

Adi had an unfortunate start to the week. On Shabbos I was carrying her over my shoulder and banged her head on a doorpost. She got a bump and a bruise on her forehead. On Sunday I was taking pictures of the kids and Adel took a plunge from Zusha's lap and onto the concrete. (He was sitting on a low curb, so the fall was very short.)
She didn't get scratched, but now has a pink area on her forehead, right where the bruise is. And on Monday we were exiting a store. I was trying to maneuver the carriage between two metal columns which are intended to keep the shopping carts from being stolen. Adel was holding onto an outer part of the stroller and her tiny, precious fingers got pinched between the metal column and a metal part of the stroller.

I was thinking of trimming Adel's hair a drop (just the bangs and by the ears) but until the booboos on her forehead heal, I'm glad to have the hair there to hide them!

Adel LIFTS. HER. ARMS. Yes, she does. The therapy is helping tremendously, and now her muscles are loosened enough for me to be able to lift her arms, and she even does it herself. Since discovering this fun skill, she pats the top of her head, lifts blankets over her face for peekaboo, and... she attempted to chuck her hat overboard a few times. I intercepted, but can foresee lots of hat casualties in our future.

She has a cute new thing that she does. she opens her mouth WIDE, really wide... keeps it like that for a few seconds, then giggles at us. And talk about Adel's mouth... I just discovered two new toothies! She now has 6 teeth. Until now she had the four front ones, and these two are both on the right side, top and bottom.

thanks for posting the number, I have to make an appointment for Ruchela, which dr did you see? Is there any hopes of seeing Steele or if I don't suspect any issues I shouldn't make myself crazy?
ReplyDeleteThe wait for Dr. Steele would be over a month, so we went with another one. You can see him in NYU much sooner, though.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you want to take Ruchela?
I might have to go there again... I forgot to address Adel's watery eyes. Maybe there is a blocked duct issue. I'll try to get Dr. Steele this time.
just for a regular checkup, they told me i can start bringing her in at 1 year. I needed glasses at this age already so we are just being careful.
