Why is Adel so excited?

We were hanging out on my bed, and Adel grabbed onto me and pulled and pulled and sat up. Then later I was lying in bed and Adel was lying on top of me. Her legs were on the bed. She pushed herself up on her arms off of me... higher and higher... lifted her belly- and stood on her legs! There she was, standing on the bed, leaning with her hands on my stomach, kinda like she's doing on the slide here:
So I'd like to know, Adi dear, why it is that you can roll all over the bed nonstop, sit up, stand up on the bed... but on the floor you can't do as much as a simple roll? Explain that to me, Adi. You confuzzle me. And you confuzzle the therapists.
The OT and PT are also scratching their head over the way you do so well on the exercise ball, but resist any positional change on the floor.
They are also (pleasantly) confused that you are able to nurse so well because judging by the tightness of the facial muscles, you should not be able to nurse successfully. (B"H neither of us knew that, right Adi?
And Adi loves to stand. Oooh, how she loves to stand.
(*cough*cutebabytush*cough*)
So much so, that the therapists are telling me not to stand her up at all- because she will refuse any other form of physical movement. They want to work from the arms on down.
The special ed teacher wants Adel to have three classes with her instead of two. Okay, fine, I'm all for it. But WHEN??
Funnyface Adi update:
This must be one of my very favorite Adi faces. She takes a deep breath, scrunches up her face and blows the air slowly out of her nose. We love to do it back and forth together!
And a couple more "Cutielee Adilee" (as the boys call her) photos to end with!
yay!
ReplyDeletemaybe its cuz they both aren't solid ground? bed is soft and bouncy and so is the ball?
you can post pictures and link me, I need to update....
are you coming to the library tomorrow?
yay for adi!
ReplyDeletewoohooo! B"H! keep the good news coming
ReplyDeleteps. SS has the same tights LOLOL. they should get together.
ReplyDeletemaybe put a padded pat on the floor. i have a textured mat on my playard so dovy doesn't bang his head on the floor. woth a try.
ReplyDeleteWe actually tried with the portacrib mattress (the one that came with the crib is thin and flimsy. We got a better one for the crib.) So I pulled the thin one out for therapy and she did better on it. I was going to buy a yoga mat but now I don't have to. :)
