*Zusha is very particular about his eating utensils. Usually if we are using real silverware, he will not agree to use plastic. One Shabbos I served everyone, including the kids, with real silverware. But Zusha wanted a plastic spoon because we had clear ones that he loves. So, not knowing the words "silver" and "clear," he said, "I don't want a dark white spoon, I want a light white spoon!"
*Zusha can now open the gate on the stairs, the gate to the small computer room, and the refrigerator latch.
*Once I was heating up two different foods in the toaster oven. Zusha peeked in and said, "I don't love it the same." I guess he overheard his Rebbi saying this to the boys when they ask him whose drawing he likes best. That's the only source I can imagine. I was very impressed that he used an English sentence properly, and for the right occasion.
*Once we were taking a walk and Gedalya found a big puddle. He began to play by sticking a large branch into it and splashing around. After a minute or two, Zusha said, "We can't wait here all day!"
*I was walking outside with the kids and my mother. Gedalya was holding an eeigoo in each hand, and when it was time to cross the street, he didn't want to hold anyone's hand. So my mother took him by his collar as we waited on the curb. Gedalya began twisting and trying to escape, saying, "MEE mee mee, MEE mee mee!" (Excuse me! Excuse me!) As if my mother didn't realize she just caught him by the scruff of his neck, and if he says excuse me she will let him go galavanting into the street.
*Gedalya was sitting on a kitchen chair, waiting for havdala. In came Zusha and climbed onto Gedalya's chair, squeezing him out. Gedalya was left hanging off the edge, screaming, "MEE mee mee, Yaya kumt!" (Excuse me, Gedalya is coming!)
*Gedalya has a fun new trick. If I'm pouring a drink or cereal from a bag, he will make sure I give proper portions by pushing the bottom of the container UP and holding it so that I can't put it down!
*One time Zusha threw up in the middle of the room and Gedalya said, "Zusha spilled! Zusha spilled! Clean up Zusha!"
*Gedalya climbed onto the table and was looking for snow out the window. There wasn't any, so he said, "Nee ah-ah," (Shnei ge'endikt/snow is finished.) Then he began to make kissing sounds. I asked him what he is kissing. He said, "Yaya ki nee ah-ah." (Gedalya kiss finished snow.)
