FIRST WORDS! - Nine months old

So many exciting milestones!
  • First word
  • Walks holding onto furniture
  • Sits up from lying position
  • Crawls!
  • Jumps holding onto crib railing
  • Claps his hands
  • and his first Purim!
Right around the time Zusha turned 9 months old, he got sick. Usually when he cries, I rock him and say, "A-ah, baby, baby." So he was lying in his crib, a sick little boy, and I hear him crying out, "Baby, baby." He was asking to be rocked! And a few days later he learned to say Mama. Then he was able to play on my feelings and call for me, "Mama, baby!"

Another major milestone is walking the perimeter of the playpen. But he can only walk to the right yet. He hasn't figured out that he can walk to the left. So when he passes the windowsill, on which some of his toys are kept, he can't go back but must walk all the way around!

Surprisingly enough, he learned to walk holding on before he learned to crawl. A week after the walking trick, he saw something on the floor that he really wanted, so he crawled to get it. Simple as that!
Zusha's first Purim- he was a little ram!
