And Now He is a Toddler! First Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Tiny Zusil!

Right between his Jewish and English birthdays, Zusha took his 2 first steps. (May 28, 2005) After that, he didn't take any steps by himself for another month.
He had a nice party with his whole family. My mother made for him a light blue vest, and also gave some more cute clothes and pajamas. I gave him a garage set with 3 cars, and Tatte gave him Alef-Bais cards (whic
h he learned very well before he was even 2 years old. He learned the first 2 letters right away and called them Atf and Beib). My in-laws gave him a musical elephant, which he still loves (if I ever have a chance to change the batteries) and a safety gate, to keep him safe from all the dangerous things in the kitchen. We put the gate up right away. Sometimes we forgot to close it, and Zusha would scoot straight over to the open gate. I always chased after him, until I realized that he isn't running to get into the kitchen, he is just trying to close it!
For Zusha's birthday I made a yummy carrot cake and iced it with strawberry farmer cheese. Then I decorated it by taking off some 'cream' with the tip of a knife and 'writing' in it.
