We Made...

And oh, boy was it an adventure!

First we found all the broken bits of crayons from our crayon box and removed the papers. The paper removal was harder than expected, but the boys did most of it.

Then we put them in this silicone pan. I thought it would be so cute, because the would come out as long thin rectangles.

That's when I learned my first lesson.
Silicone pans made for freezing things are not interchangeable with silicone pans made for baking things. Remember that.

Luckily I thought to put an aluminum pan under the silicone one, so I wasn't left with picking baked crayons off the bottom of the oven with my nails.

But not all was lost. We did manage to salvage some nice rectangular crayons, and even a few pieces from the leaky leftovers in the aluminum pan.

In addition to some whole sticks, we got a bunch of broken sticks, random edges, and a bear shape that you can see in the post below.

And now for the real test:

They work!

Pretty nicely, actually!

Robot Plays Guitar

I got this shirt for Adi because I was bowled over by its cuteness. Seriously, is there anything sweeter in the world?

She will wear it with a ruffly tiered white skirt. Or lacy leggings in the same light blue color. Whatever looks best.

Well the boys love it as much as I do, and they were kinda disappointed that there were none in their size. I was disappointed as well.

So I ordered two more of these insanely cute tees. I'm planning to cut out the robots and sew them onto white short sleeved t-shirts. Cute, huh? I also scored lightweight summer pants for the boys in the same light blue color. Can it get more perfect? I think not.

Now stop right here and see if you can accurately guess how many times I used the word "cute" in this post. *
:)

On the topic of buying stuff, I might as well throw this in here:
I got all this for $23 :O

It ends up averaging $1.53 per item (I actually spent between several cents and $2 plus change per item.) That's two packs of wipes, three stacking cup toys, two twisty toys, one chirping toy bird, a medicine syringe and cup, Burt's Bee's baby powder (with powdered lavender inside... smells heavenly!), Method baby wash, three J&J baby washes, and a Lansinoh diaper rash cream. The Diaper cream itself was over $8 originally.
There was some sort of clearance sale at Duane Reade. Some items were close to being expired, but I wonder why they put the toys on clearance? I got some for the therapists, and some for presents for baby friends. :)

*Oh, and the answer is four. I tried not to get monotonous and used synonyms. :)

It's the Little Things

Recently I dug up some old photos because I wanted to find a specific picture of Gedalya at Adel's age.
I love looking at pictures of the boys at Adel's age.

What I don't love is constantly thinking, "Wow, that's not even on Adel's radar! Will she ever be able to do that?"
It's the little things that get to me sometimes.

I love watching Adi do silly things, like slap her knees with her hands, one by one. Or raise and lower her legs one by one while she is sitting.
What I don't love is constantly thinking, "Is that her own cuteness? Or is that something stemming from her disorder?" The last time I thought, "Oh, what a cute little quirk," it ended up being grounds for an EEG.

While on the topic of "the little things," it's very interesting to observe that Adel is roughly the size of seven-month old Zusha.
weight: 21.5 lbs 15th %ile
height: 32.5 in 75th %ile
head circumference: 44.5 cm 7th %ile
Okay, she is taller, but by weight and head size she is the same as Zusha was at seven months. She doesn't seem so small to me, but she didn't really gain any weight since she was ten months old. (That's eight months!)
But - it does make for a more pleasant babywearing experience. :) See, I am able to find the little positive things amongst the little *sigh* things. Such as...

...watching her march around in her new shichalach! When I stand her up and hold her hands, she makes really high and exaggerated steps, bringing her footsies down with a STOMP. Zusha says Adel is the cutest girl in the world because other girls walk the regular way, but Adel walks this way. :)

I used to love being able to toss Adel's clothes from the washing machine into the dryer without a second glance. I don't dry any clothes with stains; I pre-treat and rewash. But she wasn't self feeding, so no food stains. She wasn't crawling, so no dirty knees. She has chronic constipation, so no diaper blowouts. (Maybe five in her whole life...)
Now that she is crawling and sometimes self feeding, I love having to check her clothes. And if the knee scuffs don't come out, I love it even more!
It's the little things that make me smile.

And I must say, I love looking at pictures of Adel at Adel's age, too!

A Whole Bunchastuff

First of all, I made a new blog. I have been thinking of making a public blog for a while, but haven't actually done so. I wanted it to be able to participate in contests and giveaways on other blogs, to be able to put up some info or photos and send it to someone without going through the hassle of inviting them to read here, and also to allow people to reach me somehow if I leave a comment on their blog or something.

I buckled down and did it because Adi's geneticist wasn't able to log in to this blog easily to watch the videos, and I felt bad for making him run around and click a million links. (In the end, he was able to log in here, and I removed the videos from the public blog.)

Since I was going to make it for the geneticist, I wanted a short and easy URL with "Adel" or "Adi" in it. But they were all taken. Here are some of the cute ones:

http://adi.blogspot.com/
-This one looks like something my Adi could have done. I'll have to talk to her about what she has been doing during my 30 second bathroom trips (which is the only time she is ever out of my sight.)

http://babyadi.blogspot.com/
Another real Adi!

http://adibaby.blogspot.com/
"Adi's Spot"? More like "Adi's Spots." But seriously. Adibaby?? Don't they know it's a copyrighted term?

In the end I chose something more broad for the URL: http://threetiny.blogspot.com/
I'm open to more original suggestions, though!
So far I put up one post on that blog. Henceforth, whatever I post there, I will post here as well, so there is no need to bookmark it. :)

Another little update. My little green box on the right, Feedjit, which tracks visitors to this blog, just got a cool update. They now allow you to personalize your info and add a link! I now appear as "GAMZu" instead of just "Brooklyn, NY" and my name links to my Facebook account. And anyone can do it! You just click on "Live Traffic Feed Menu" and they will ask you to sign up for Feedjit and enter your info. The only personal information they ask you is your email, but they do not send you anything. It's just to make sure you are human. :)
You must include a link to either Facebook or Twitter, which I don't think was a good idea on their part. Why not just allow your name (or screen name) to show up in the feed without a link? Whatever.

In any case, if anyone wants to go through the two or three short steps and appear in the traffic feed as a name instead of a location, I think it would be so much fun. It would totally add to the social aspect of things.
Although I do recognize the lonely readers in South America and specific states, I think it would be fun to differentiate between the many Brooklyns and Israels.

Oh, and if you visit my new blog, make me smile and leave a comment. :D
