The Hammies

Introducing... our little hamsters!

Here is Moorkitz, Zusha's hamster.

And Hommy is Gedalya's.

They are sure keeping us entertained, laughing, busy... they are little troublemakers and need to be rescued from their predicaments sometimes. I have to remove the exercise wheel when I go to sleep because they climb up on it... or one hamster makes the other one spin around... or Hommy climbs into the nonexistent space between the wheel and the wall, which is bad enough, but gets even scarier when Moorkitz starts running.
So I remove it, and then they shoot me accusing glances, pick themselves up and just go to sleep. As if there is nothing more to life than the wheel.

I'm so happy to experience the joy of pets once again. (And I'm not new to this pet business. One day I will write a post in commemoration of all my creatures.)

New Pajammies

I was looking for pajamas for Gedalya... and in the bargain bin of one store, I found...

Three sets of PJs in the sizes I needed! And look how adorable they are- dancing animals! Adel's is a stretchie, and the others are two piece sets.

Zusha was so excited that they were all matching. :) I promised him that I'd take photos of them in the morning in their matching pajamas if he goes to sleep nicely.

Surprisingly, it worked!

Aaaand, We Have Three

Adili's third tooth popped up today!

It's the top one, on the right.

Now she lines up her top and bottom teeth very carefully and grins.

YUMMY BABY!

"Helping You Save Money"

Apparently, the Poozils are helping me save money... checking the Torah Times for sales. :P

But really, I'm always on the lookout for sales and coupons... preferably both!
Lately I've lucked out with my grocery store. They have a program where they give out "lotto" tickets with every purchase of $50 and up. And since our Shabbos shopping is always at least that amount, I get a coupon every time. You have to scratch to reveal the discount, which you can use towards your next purchase.
Sometimes it's for a free kugel, free case of seltzer, or free sandwich and drink. Other times you can get a free item up to $4. Some cards reveal a certain percent off your purchase. I have only ever received 3%, 5% and 10%. I heard it can go up to 50%!!

I actually just had a 10% coupon last week. I bought things ahead of time, to take advantage of the discount. I got juices for this Shabbos and the next one. Extra canned foods, a couple of extra bottles of milk for the freezer...
I also lucked out with chicken- they sell the freezer chicken for 50% off. Well, this time they had just put 24 hour old chicken cutlets in the freezer- they were not yet frozen! So I got fresh chicken cutlets for $3.50 a pound.

If anyone is in BoroPark and wants to check out this nice grocery, it's The Kosher Food Depot on 42nd and 13th. I save between $4 and $15 at each shopping.

It's also very conveniently set up. Not too large, which makes pacing the aisles difficult with small kids, not to mention how easy it is to lose a child. And it's not too small that you can barely fit through- forget about the stroller! After trying out a whole bunch of local grocery stores, this one is undeniably the winner in value and convenience. :)

Jump for Joy!

First day of summer vacation! Yea!!

Happy 8 Months to My Maybooboo

My sweet, swinging, rotating on her tummy on the floor, fruit licking, face grabbing, brother worshiping, wiggly, giggly baby girl is eight months old!

Just for fun, here are all the kiddos at eight months:
Zusha

Gedalya

Adel

Is there any resemblance? I think all of them look very different from one another.

I am now giving Adel fruit to lick. She doesn't really ingest any... maybe some juice. But she does get the taste! She is very intrigued.
Here she is with some blueberry seeds all over her cute little face.

She's also had a pinch of banana and sucked on a watermelon slice so far.

Zusha's Paintshop Museum

First exhibit: In the ocean.
Here we have a whale.

A host of sea creatures, including an octopus. This might be my favorite drawing of Zusha's.

And a ship.

Which brings us to the next exhibit: transportation.
Train traveling on orange tracks at night.

Car.

Now get this- how cool is my kid? He made ASCII art! All his own idea and work. Funny kid. :)
This is a train, traveling on asterisk tracks..

Miscellaneous exhibit:
A kid digging in the park with his shovel.

Caterpillar.

And Sukka. With yellow schach. :)
