Oooh, Lookit All the Colorful Wires!

Updated

We're done! :)
Adel shrieked and shrieked and shrieked.
I think the poor technician might have lost some hearing. She cemented 19 electrodes to Adel's head and wrapped the whole head in bandages. The wires are attached to an electronic device. When we got home, Adel kept fingering the wires and grabbing the bag with the device. I somehow managed to get the wires under her onesie, so now they are sticking out of her pants, which is less noticeable for her. Then I put the device into a kiddie backpack and hung it on Adel's back.

Tomorrow morning I will take it off myself and send it to Manhattan with Hillel. I originally thought I have to bring her for the removal, but B"H I don't. So much easier this way.

I'm a little nervous since Adel hasn't had one of her episodes, which is the reason we are doing the EEG! I will go and try to wake her now so I can induce an episode. Not fun. Last night she was having many. Today, nothing. Grrr.

  2. You can see a video clip of her episodes in this post:

We had an EEG to make sure these aren't seizures or any other harmful brain activity. She needed to have at least one episode while the EEG was on so they can see the brain waves at that time. I was afraid she wouldn't have one but B"H we were able to register a few.
