My baby is now a big boy with peyos, a yarmulke and tzitzis. His Upsherin was on Lag B'Omer (May 6) and the Hachnosa L'Cheider was on his birthday, 18 Sivan (June 4).
The day he went to cheider it was pouring rain, but we made it in one piece. Zusha remembered cheider from when he had the interview, so he was really excited.
The Rebbi brought him up to the front of the class and together with him and the rest of the boys made a brocha on tzitzis and on the Tora.
Zusha then stood up on the chair to read the Alef Bais that was on the board. The Rebbe pointed to each letter, saying it, and Zusha repeated it so nicely. Than came the honey on the letters. Zusha licked the honey off all the letters as the Rebbi said them.
After that, Zusha gave out pekelech to all the boys and everyone danced. Some boys even danced with Gedalya!
When we got home, Zusha received his birthday present: a huge Alef-Beis jigsaw puzzle which he loves and is able to put together mostly on his own!
